Our November 2010 social entrepreneurship journey will immerse participants in a once-in-a-lifetime 9-day experience in India.
Joining a select group of senior leaders from some of the world’s top private, public and civil society organisations, participants will get first-hand lessons in innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership from some of Bangalore and Mumbai’s leading social entrepreneurs. The journey will include interactive site visits, discussion around local and national issues, and personal and group reflection time.
A visit to SELCO Solar (www.selco-india.com), a social enterprise providing sustainable energy solutions and services to under-served households and businesses. SELCO's founder, Harish Hande, is a Skoll Award Winner, Schwab Fellow of the World Economic Forum, an Ashoka fellow, and was awarded Khemkha Foundation's Social Entrepreneur of the Year, India, 2007 award.
A visit to Dream a Dream (www.dreamadream.org), providing children from vulnerable backgrounds with non-traditional educational opportunities designed to allow them to explore, innovate and build important life skills. Dream A Dream's co-founder, Vishal Talreja, is an Ashoka Fellow and Waldzell Architect of the Future.
We will be selecting approximately 15 leaders to take part in the experience. Previous participants have included senior leaders in the private, public and civil society sectors, social entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs, policy makers, philanthropists and academics.
